There will be times when you may need to store your electric stove in a self-storage unit. Whether you are moving or need to shelve your electric stove temporarily, you need to know how to store electric stoves in the right way. Proper storage eliminates or minimizes any damage to your appliance. Below we will enumerate the steps detailing how your electric stove should be prepared for storage in a self-storage unit.

Step 1- Clean your stove. For the simple reason, no one wants to have to deal with a grimy, moldy stove when they are ready to use it again.
Step 2- Measure your electric stove. Having its dimensions means you can decide exactly where you will be putting your electric stove when you get to the self-storage unit.
Step 3- Remove power cords. These will be located at the back of your stove. You can wrap the cord and secure it with tape. Some electric stoves are fitted to use gas. Step 4-Take apart components that may get loose. We recommend removing gas taps, oven grates, and temperature dials. Package them separately.

Step 6- Store in an Upright position. When you have decided where you will be placing your electric stove within your self-storage unit, be sure that you place it upright.
Step 7- Cover the electric stove. Use a blanket to cover the outer surface of the stove. It can be kept in place by rope or bungee cords.
